Website visitor tracking for B2B teams

Most companies that visit your website never fill in a form. VisitorDetector turns that silent traffic into a list of named companies, the pages each one read, how often it came back and how close it looks to a buying decision, so your sales team calls accounts that are already looking.

Analytics counts sessions, sales needs company names

Web analytics tells you that 3,400 sessions arrived from organic search last week. It cannot tell you that a mid-size logistics firm in Ohio read your pricing page three times and opened a case study on Thursday. That is the signal a rep can act on, and it disappears inside aggregated reports.

Website visitor tracking for B2B closes that gap at company level. Instead of anonymous sessions you get account names, firmographics and a visit history that sales, marketing and RevOps can use the same day.

  • See which companies visit, not just how many sessions you had
  • Know which pages each company read and in what order
  • Spot return visits from accounts already in your pipeline
  • Hand reps a short daily list instead of a dashboard to interpret

From one script tag to a named company

You add one async script tag to your site, or publish it through the tag manager you already use. It is under 10 KB and loads after the page, so it does not slow down what your visitors see.

When a visit arrives, we match the visiting IP address to a business network using a licensed B2B IP-to-company data set. If the network belongs to a company, the visit is attached to that company profile. Residential, mobile carrier and known VPN ranges are excluded and stay anonymous.

We never identify a named person. There are no names, no email addresses and no personal profiles in VisitorDetector, only companies. The full step by step is on how website visitor identification works.

Website visitor tracking software built around accounts

Every identified company gets a profile your team can read in seconds.

01

Company name, website, industry and employee range

02

HQ country and region, plus the LinkedIn company page link when available

03

Pages viewed, time on page and the entry source (UTM parameters and referrer)

04

Number of sessions, first seen and last seen dates

05

An interest score from 0 to 100 that rises with pricing, demo, case study and comparison page views, recency and return visits

The score is explained in detail on lead scoring for website visitors. On Growth and up you edit the page weights so the score reflects how your buyers actually behave.

What we can identify and what stays anonymous

We identify the share of visits that come from business networks we can match. People reading your site from home, on a phone over a mobile carrier or through a VPN stay anonymous, and we do not guess. Your report shows the matched share for your own traffic, so you always know how much of it is covered.

That is a deliberate choice. Company-level tracking gives sales a real signal without building profiles of individuals, which keeps the product simple to explain to your legal team. Read more on company-level anonymous visitor identification.

  • Office and corporate networks are where matches come from
  • Home, mobile and VPN traffic is excluded on purpose
  • No match rate promises, only your measured matched share

Alerts, filters and CRM sync

Tracking only pays off when the right person sees the right company at the right time. VisitorDetector filters out the noise and pushes the signal to where your team already works.

Alerts are covered in depth on website visitor alerts.

  • Filter by ICP, and exclude existing customers, competitors and your own office IPs
  • Save segments such as "SaaS, 201 to 1,000 employees, United States, score above 60"
  • Get an email digest of hot companies (daily on Starter, real-time on Growth and up)
  • Post hot company alerts to a Slack channel with the pages viewed (Growth and up)
  • Sync company records to HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive on Growth and up, export CSV on every plan

Built for teams that need legal to say yes

Because tracking stays at company level, VisitorDetector does not need third-party cookies and does not collect personal profiles. You get an opt-out page for visitors, an IP truncation option, a data retention setting (13 months by default), notice text templates for EU and California, consent mode support for the cookie manager you already use, and the option to respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. A DPA is available on request. Details are on privacy-first visitor identification. This is not legal advice, so check your own obligations with counsel.
