Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the VisitorDetector service provided by the administrator of the visitordetector.com service. By creating an account or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the business you represent.

What the service is

VisitorDetector identifies the companies that visit your website at the company level, shows their visit history and interest score, and sends alerts and data to the tools you connect. The service is intended for businesses. It never identifies named people, and you agree not to try to make it do so.

Your account

You need a work email address and a password to create an account, and you confirm the email address with a code. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for the actions of the people you give seats to. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account was accessed without permission.

Plans and billing periods

The service is sold only as a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance. Plans, prices and limits are listed on the visitor identification pricing page. There is no free plan, no credits and no one-time purchases.

Automatic renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for the same length, at the price of your plan, until you cancel. We charge the payment method on file on the renewal date.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and then the subscription ends.

Changing plans

When you move to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing, the price difference is charged at the time of the change and the new plan starts once that payment succeeds. When you move to a lower plan, the change applies from the next billing period.

How plan limits are counted

Limits are counted as usage within the billing period. An identified company counts once per company per month. Deleting a company, a list or a visit history never frees a slot within the period. At the limit, new companies wait until the next period or until you move to a higher plan, and alerts for companies you already identified continue.

Your responsibilities

  • You must have a privacy notice on every website where you install the snippet, describing the use of a visitor identification service and how visitors can opt out. Notice templates in your account can help.
  • You must not use the service, alone or combined with other data, to identify individual people or to build profiles of individuals.
  • You must comply with privacy, marketing and anti-spam laws that apply to you, including when you contact companies you saw in the service.
  • You must install the snippet only on websites you own or are authorized to manage.
  • You must not resell raw data from the service as a data product, reverse engineer the service, overload it, or use it for unlawful purposes.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, after notice when that is reasonable.

Payments

Prices are in US dollars. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout. All payments are final, as described in the refund policy.

Data and privacy

You are the controller of visit data collected on your websites, and we process it as your processor or service provider. Our privacy policy and the DPA, available on request, describe that processing. We delete your data after your account is closed, as described in the privacy policy.

Availability

We work to keep the service running and fix problems quickly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service on any plan. Enterprise plans include a named support contact who handles incidents first.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. Company matching depends on data about business networks and cannot identify every visit, and we do not guarantee any match rate or business result. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We inform account holders by email before important changes take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies.
